Tutoring Club Climbs 2007 Franchise 500
Entrepreneur Magazine recognizes innovative tutoring company among most successful education franchises in the nation
HENDERSON, NV, Feb 28, 2007 – In its 2007 ranking of U.S. franchise businesses, Entrepreneur Magazine has ranked Tutoring Club as one of the nation’s top 150 Franchises. The Nevada based company, which was founded in 1991 and began franchise activities in 1999, was ranked 146th in the nation based on its continued strong rate of growth. Over the past six years, the company has consistently ranked in the Top 500 U.S. Franchises as it has grown from 25 franchises to 177 nationwide.
“I attribute the success of our organization to two things: the dedication of each franchisee to our goal of creating successful learners, and the quality of the TutorAid programs we’ve created to achieve that goal,” said Tutoring Club founder and president, Lawrence H. Schwartz.
One of Tutoring Club’s newest franchisees, Laura Tanner of Petaluma, California, was highlighted in a special section of the 28th Annual Franchise edition of Entrepreneur Magazine called “Meet Your Match,” a feature on searching for the perfect franchise. Tanner said one of the reasons she was encouraged to open her own franchise was because other franchisees were opening additional units.
Schwartz said Tanner’s story was not unique with franchisees because “we spent nearly a decade honing our products and systems before we created our franchise structure. Rather than simply provide qualified instructors for tutoring, we apply highly specialized learning programs to each child based on an initial diagnostic assessments of their skills. We then make sure that our efforts are integrated into both the home and school environment through regular conferences with parents and teachers.”
Tutoring Club provides individualized instruction in reading, mathematics and writing for children in grades K-12. Tutoring Club is unique among learning systems in not only its methodology, but also in its guarantee to raise a student’s academic level in less time and at lower cost than any other program.
Over the last few years, the company has introduced its TutorAid series to improve skills in core academic areas, including Rx Reading, Amazing Math, and the Write Way. Through its TutorUp program, tutoring Club also delivers individualized instruction in science, foreign language, high-school mathematics, and teaches basic learning skills such as note taking, outlining, time management and test preparation, including SAT and ACT instruction.
