Owning a Cleaning Franchise Doesn’t Involve Getting Your Hands Dirty…

But it does mean that you’ll join the fastest growing segment of the home services industry. Demand for services provided by cleaning franchises is increasing by 5.5% every year. Residential cleaning is projected to be a $10.7 billion a year industry in the next two years. But you don’t have to love cleaning- or perform any cleaning- to own a business in this thriving industry. Housecleaning franchises, like CottageCare provide a lucrative, stable opportunity for franchise owners who don’t clean homes themselves, but rather manage a staff that performs the cleaning. Rescue consumers from the dreaded task of cleaning their homes by owning a solid business with staying-power.

“…This business is pretty much recession-proof, that’s been our experience,” said Tom Schrader, President and CEO of CottageCare who has been in the industry for over 40 years and founded CottageCare 20 years ago. “We’ve found that recessions really don’t impact our business for two reasons- one cleaning is a huge, untapped market so we’re not banging heads with competitors and two, recessions often scare the second wage earner in a family who is not currently working into getting a job outside of the home. So they say to themselves, ‘well, if I’m not going to be home anymore, I need to hire someone to clean my house’,” Schrader explained.

“In addition to dual income families who use our services, families with stay-at-home moms are a huge market for us…To put it in a ballpark, at one point 75-80% of our clients were dual income families, now I’d say it’s about a 60/40 split, with stay-at-home moms representing 40% of our business,” Schrader said.

In addition to being in a secure, growing industry, with tremendous market potential, cleaning franchises also feature very family-friendly schedules. CottageCare and Molly Maid franchisees work professional hours, Monday through Friday and never have to work evenings or weekends- or get their hands dirty. As a cleaning company franchisee, you’ll help consumers reclaim their free time and have plenty of time to for yourself and your family.
