Athletic Nation Announces Transition To Co-ed Training Gyms
Customer Demand Predicates Move Triple Digit Growth Anticipated for 2009
San Jose, CA October 14, 2008 - Athletic Nation President & Founder Dennis Mulgannon announced today that the franchisor of personal training gyms would be transitioning to co-ed training.
"The demand in the market has created a unique situation that allows us to increase our opportunity for growth. Statistics show that 3/4 of the personal training clients in the U.S. are female and since we began operating our gyms two years ago as "male only", we have always had great demand from women to train at our gyms." He adds "It's difficult to not follow basic business logic when you can increase your market size and opportunity by 300% plus... we always knew this would be a natural evolution of our brand." Mr. Mulgannon continues, "We are now able to create new revenue streams for our current franchise partners including female personal training, Athletic Nation Boot Camps during off peak personal training times to appeal to a broader client base, corporate employee training programs, etc. We are very excited about this transition."
Response from current franchise owners has been incredibly supportive and positive. "This is about growing market share and increasing revenue streams," said Athletic Nation Director of Development Manny Petersen. "Everything stays the same in terms of start-up franchise costs, operating overhead, and marketing & advertising, but we now can increase revenue at the unit level by 300-400%!"
Over the next two weeks the company will be working to change its marketing, PR and web site to reflect the new transition.
