Or, if you prefer to be involved in all the aspects of the business, then the floor is yours! Keller chose to be an active owner\/operator.<\/p>\n<p><strong>History of Scout &amp; Molly&#8217;s<\/strong><br \/>\nScout &amp; Molly\u2019s first store was opened in 2002 by the founder Lisa Kornstein. The boutique began licensing in 2008 and has been franchising since 2013. Kornstein has always been intrigued with fashion and clothes but rarely thought she would own her own boutique. Like many, Lisa thought becoming an entrepreneur was not attainable due to the overwhelming amount of research and time it takes to start a business from scratch. Scout &amp; Molly\u2019s wants business ownership to become a reality for more entrepreneurs by providing the:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven system<\/li>\n<li>Real estate assistance<\/li>\n<li>Inventory and purchasing control<\/li>\n<li>Technology<\/li>\n<li>General retail operations training and support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kornstein says \u201cI think the concepts several people look at initially are food, hair care and assisted care franchises.\u201d She continues, \u201cWe\u2019ve attracted a lot of investors who purchase multiple locations because it is a smart, semi-absentee model, and Scout &amp; Molly\u2019s is a sexier concept. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaryalice is going to be a great asset to Scout &amp; Molly\u2019s,\u201d adds Kornstein. \u201cHer new location &#8211; opening in early 2016 &#8211; will attract both locals and tourists.\u201d Currently, Keller is in the process of finalizing the plans for her new boutique in a lifestyle center location near a Whole Foods in downtown Sarasota.<\/p>\n<p><strong>US Women\u2019s Clothing Stores &#8211; Industry &amp; Trends<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A $48 billion industry<\/li>\n<li>Has an annual growth rate of 2.4%<\/li>\n<li>Expected to grow continuously over the next 5 years<\/li>\n<li>Pastels continue but in more saturated tones such as coral and salmon<\/li>\n<li>Culottes return and in every fabric<\/li>\n<li>Jewel tones including deep periwinkle and wine will be introduced as next season\u2019s colors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A Fun, Fashionable Opportunity<\/strong><br \/>\nExplore owning a Scout &amp; Molly\u2019s as it provides a niche within the retail industry and is poised to be a national leader in the retail boutique industry.
