Right out of the gate, he purchased two Dickey\u2019s locations; one in Park City, UT and another in a location to be determined.<\/p>\n<p>Dan and his wife Stephanie, who reside in Farmington, UT, opened their first Dickey\u2019s Barbecue Pit location in August 2015 after finding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.franchisesolutions.com\/franchise\/dickeys-barbecue-restaurants-inc\" target=\"_blank\">Dickey\u2019s on the Franchise Solutions\u2019 portal<\/a> last January.<\/p>\n<p>Dan is an investment banker by trade and a real estate investor who owns and rents out five condos around the University of Utah. Stephanie formerly worked in the freight industry but out of the two of them, is the one who has a passion for food.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.franchisesolutions.com\/franchise\/dickeys-barbecue-restaurants-inc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3700\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.franchisesolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Dickeys-DB-300x247.jpg\" alt=\"Dickey\u2019s Barbecue Pit franchise owners, Dan &amp; Stephanie Barton\" width=\"300\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.franchisesolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Dickeys-DB-300x247.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.franchisesolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Dickeys-DB.jpg 506w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>\u201cI chose Dickey\u2019s Barbecue Pit because it&#8217;s one of the top growing franchises in the country and a brand people know and love,\u201d said Dan. The fast-casual concept has expanded to more than 530 locations in 43 states. Dickey\u2019s Barbecue was recognized for the third year by Nation\u2019s Restaurant News as a \u201cTop 10 Growth Chain\u201d and by Technomic as the \u201cFastest-growing restaurant chain in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Originally the couple wanted to open their Dickey&#8217;s in Salt Lake, UT near campus but changed course when negotiations with a landlord were stalled.
