1. FUNDING COMMISSIONS
   Earn up to 5% cash of funding totals for each successful referral. You are paid at at the time of funding and do not participate in the business success or failure.
2. STOCK OPTIONS
   As an alternative to cash referral fees you have the option in some cases to take an equity position in the new venture in lieu of consulting fees. This can be most effective during seed capital rounds.
3. INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES
   Many venture capital consultants are able to leverage the early interaction with the entrepreneur into becoming one of the angel investors. This is a high risk/high reward form of fee collection.
