To buy a Dutch Bros Coffee, you must be a Dutch Bros Coffee employee who demonstrates the desire, drive and determination to run a location of your own. Franchise opportunities are exclusively for existing, qualified Dutch Bros employees. New franchisees are asked to have a net worth of at least $500,000, including $150,000 in cash. Dutch Bros. Coffee is the largest, privately-owned drive-through coffee shop in the country. It serves a variety of specialty coffee and caffeinated drinks made with a premium private bean blend and roasted fresh daily. Plus, it gives back to its community regularly. The business's motto is "make a difference, one cup at a time".
Currently, Dutch Bros. Coffee exclusively offers franchising opportunities to existing employees and is closed to the public. If you'd like to be considered to qualify for a Dutch Bros Coffee franchise, you'll have to apply as an employee first.
About
Dutch Bros Coffee was founded in 1992 by two brothers, Dane and Travis Boersma, in Grants Pass, OR. After growing up in the dairy business, the brothers branched out for better-smelling pastures; one that smelled of delicious, roasted coffee beans.
Today, the company has more than 379 locations in the Western United States and is expanding quickly. Currently, the locations are temporarily drive-thru only and sell new locations to qualified Dutch Bros Coffee employees only.

After Travis's brother and co-founder Dane Boersma passed away from Lou Gehrig’s disease in 2009, all Dutch Bros. drive-through locations donate one day’s profits in May to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. A fundraiser they titled "Drink One for Dane."
Additionally, Dutch Bros holds a fundraiser called “Buck for Kids Day”. One day each September, Dutch Bros Coffee donates $1 from every drink sold to local youth-oriented non-profit organizations.
Since 2014, Dutch Bros Coffee has supported breast care awareness and has made more than $1.6 million in donations.
To help fight food insecurity in local communities, each Valentine's Day the coffee shops donate $1 from every drink sold to local organizations.
